For years, students moved from the recruitment pipeline to admission to matriculation with little fuss from institutions. But now higher ed is facing a challenging enrollment environment and many colleges are shifting more of their focus to setting up students for success.
Across campuses, admissions and enrollment teams are making more of an effort to smooth the transition for students and to support the handoff as applicants and admitted students move from the purview of admissions and enrollment practitioners to student affairs, academic leaders, and faculty members.
In this virtual forum, The Chronicle sat down with experts to explore how campuses are:
- Making sure students have a successful “launch” on campus.
- Reinventing student engagement in the last stages of the admissions cycle and into the start of orientation.
- Using technology to overcome data silos and make sure insights about students are shared across the institution, including with the faculty.
