Appointments

John D. Groesbeck, former dean of the Robert W. Plaster School of Business at Missouri Southern State University, has been named president of Mesalands Community College. He succeeds Thomas Newsom, who has stepped down.

Appointments

John D. Groesbeck, former dean of the Robert W. Plaster School of Business at Missouri Southern State University, has been named president of Mesalands Community College. He succeeds Thomas Newsom, who has stepped down.

Todd Shackett, director of operational excellence at Baxter International, in Opelika, Ala., has been named president of Southern Union State Community College. He replaces Mark Ellard, who served as interim president since March.

Kristin Williams, president of Henderson Community College, will become chancellor of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System on August 16. She will succeed Rhonda Tracy, who will step down.

Departures

Eric Kaler, president of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities since 2011, plans to step down on July 1, 2019. He will serve as president emeritus for a year, then return to his faculty position in the department of chemical engineering and materials science after a sabbatical.

Appointments

Ellen Granberg, associate provost at Clemson University, will become provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the Rochester Institute of Technology on August 19.

Karen Hofmann, interim provost at Art Center College of Design, has been named to the position permanently.

John Muccigrosso, a professor of classics and former dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Drew University, became interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Holy Names University on July 1.

Charles Taylor, dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of North Texas system, will become provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center on August 1.

Karen Archambault, dean of enrollment management at Rowan College at Burlington County, will become vice president for enrollment management and student success on September 1.

Guilherme Costa, general counsel for the South Dakota Board of Regents, will become vice president, general counsel, and secretary to the board of trustees at Ithaca College on September 10.

Chris Kabourek, interim vice president and chief financial officer at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, has been named to the position permanently.

Patrick Love, executive-in-residence at Bowling Green State University and former vice president for student affairs at New York Institute of Technology, will become interim vice president for student affairs and director of the Student Personnel Administration Program at Springfield College on August 6.

Felicia McGinty, vice chancellor for student affairs at Rutgers University at New Brunswick, will become executive vice chancellor for administration and planning on August 1.

Salvador Mena, senior associate vice chancellor for student affairs at Rutgers University at New Brunswick, will become vice chancellor for student affairs on August 1.

Robert Murphy, vice president of enrollment and dean of admissions at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, will become senior vice president for enrollment and strategic initiatives at Niagara University on July 17.

Peter Sennett, executive director affirmative action officer/Title IX coordinator/public records access officer at Greenfield Community College, has been named vice president for human resources and payroll at Mount Wachusett Community College.

The Rev. Tracy Waal, director of admissions and an adjunct faculty member for public relations at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, will become vice president for student life on August 1.

Anne L. Balazs, interim dean of the College of Business at Eastern Michigan University, will become dean of the College of Business and Innovation at the University of Toledo on August 13.

Jeremi Bauer, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Post University, has been named dean of the Malcolm Baldrige School of Business.

Michelle Brown, university fellow for academic excellence at Shenandoah University, became dean of the Macricostas School of Arts and Sciences at Western Connecticut State University on July 16.

Gale S. Etschmaier, dean of library and information access at San Diego State University, will become dean of university libraries at Florida State University on September 7.

James C. Ragain Jr., an associate professor of restorative dentistry and interim chair of general practice dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, will become dean of the College of Dentistry on August 1.

Adrian Tyndall, chairman of emergency medicine and physician-in-chief of emergency medicine at the University of Florida, will become interim dean the College of Medicine on July 30.

Nancy Amato, a professor of computer science and engineering at Texas A&M University, will become head of computer science and a professor of engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on January 7.

Ruth Barratt, an associate professor of education leadership at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, became chair of the Rader School of Business on July 1.

Randal O. Dull, professor and vice chair of anesthesiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, became professor and chair of anesthesiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine at Tucson on July 2.

Margie Lee, a professor of population health and infectious diseases in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia at Athens, has been named professor and head of biomedical sciences and pathobiology in the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech.

Bill Beekman, interim director of athletics at Michigan State University since February, has been named to the position permanently.

Scott J. Blair, director of student diversity and inclusion initiatives at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, has been named chief diversity officer at Northampton Community College.

Angela M. Callahan, owner of the business and leadership coaching firm, PESSCE Unlimited, became senior associate vice chancellor for talent and diversity at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth on July 2.

Scott Stevenson, director of operations for Northwest Connecticut Public Safety, has been named director of campus safety and emergency management at Post University.

Jonathan T. Weinberg, a professor of law at Wayne State University, has been named associate dean for research and faculty development for the law school.

Sherree Wilson, dean of cultural affairs and diversity initiatives for the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa, has been named associate vice chancellor and associate dean for diversity and inclusion for the School of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis.

Michele Bratcher Goodwin, a professor of law and director of the Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy at the University of California at Irvine School of Law, will become a visiting professor of biotechnology and law at the University of Virginia School of Law this fall.

Kimberly J. Robinson, a professor of law at the University of Richmond, will become a visiting professor of education law and policy and education law survey at the University of Virginia School of Law this fall.

Robert Taylor, a recent master’s of library science recipient from Valdosta State University, became an assistant professor and acquisitions/cataloging librarian in the Odum Library at Valdosta on July 1.

Joseph Thomas Durham, president of Baltimore City Community College from 1985 to 1990, died on June 26. He was 94. Durham was a professor at Coppin State University before and after his tenure as president, and also served on the Maryland State Board of Higher Education.
